Event 3: Fairy Tail's Fall
Two entered Magnolia, an old man and a younger gentleman in a mask. Inconspicuous though it
was everything had fallen into place nicely. The pieces hadn't all moved exactly the way he had
planned on, but they had still ended up on the square on which they were supposed to be. The
younger gentleman would have gloated if it wasn't just expected. As it stood, the older man next
to him would have simply shrugged off any praise for this as the bare minimum.
"Is everything ready for pick up Noburu?" The young man asked, indicating using a
spoken code so that he could inconspicuously ask him to attend to the business they had in town.
Unexpected as it would have been for someone to be tracking them, Shadow heart hadn't gotten
this far by simply ignoring variables.
Fairy Tail's guild leader was out and the Ace seemed to be running things at the moment, that
meant they only needed to factor him in as they worst opposition. They had a bead on two
dragon slayers, both of which were either not in Fairy Tail or were in but currently away. The
assessment made the next part of the plan effective, and Noburu responded at last.
"Not just yet sir, allow me to ensure that they are being put into place now."
The old man responded as he broke off from the Shadow Heart guild leader's side and headed
toward the market district at first, and then the shady parts of town... the parts where many battles
had been initiated between Fairy Tail either along side, or independently of other guild in the
pursuit of stopping dark guilds. They had made many enemies and it was time for them to reap
what they had sown.
The young master had a separate set of objectives to deal with before heading to the Fairy Tail
guild hall. The guild needed to go down before the magic council was set up, that would delay the
nearest set of reinforcements and cause Taiga to return to the guild hall. By the time he got back
to Fiore, they could free the Shadow Hearts guild members and prospectus in the Magic Council
jails and launch his attack there. Noburu's shadow magic would get them to the council in time to
balance that factor out and of course they had their secret weapons location here and there that
they could call upon if needed in order to complete that objective. As for Lamia Scale, Blue
Pegasus, and other smaller guilds they were being hit by their own various dark mage guilds
which had been arranged by the respective SH field areas. This would keep them from coming to
the aide of the magic council or anywhere else unless they had their own guild members out on
job, though he doubted any of the guild leaders were going anywhere, but to help their own. After
the guilds got hit the other shadow hearts members would simply fade into the backdrop of their
respective towns and cities just so they weren't any more conspicuous than they had been before.
Going over the plan once again in his head he wasn't seeing any real flaw with it other than the
ridiculous number of moving parts that remained necessary in lieu of anyone in possession of
some sort of powerful teleportation magic or time space manipulation magic that would allow them
to exist in multiple places at once, they were going to have to rely on multiple people doing their
damned jobs to at least stall while they used their transportational abilities. There were so many
variables to consider in this equation. Guild masters not being where they were supposed to be,
surprise highly powered mages, random dragon slayer interference, random forgotten mages of
days past, or that wild card from that guild event that had been televised, the one that owned the
island. Still, he had plans for her involving some "lost travelers" on her territory that needed help.
Every detail had been covered, every variable factored in, every chess piece moved in just the
right way to set up for check, and now it was time for mate.
As he contemplated all of these details, going back over them with a fine toothed comb to ensure
that he hadn't missed anything, Noburu reemerged from the shadows, tapping the Shadow lord on
the shoulder.
"Everything is in order sir. We are ready to move when you are." The old
man assured. The Shadow Lord only nodded as the pair turned and headed for the Fairy Tail
guild hall.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As they had planned the two walked in the front door of the guild. At first they were welcomed until
one of the guild members asked if Noburu was too old to join a new guild. The Shadow Lord
would have laughed if he didn't know that it was a hot button issue and it was confirmed as the
Fairy Tail guild member was thrown into the wall by tendrils of shadow, and while the Shadow
Lord had hoped to make it further inside, it was too late to do anything about that. He could move
forward and leave Noburu to deal with the youngers, but it wasn't time for out an out war. Still,
there was no need to lie. They didn't have to make it all the way to the back, they just had to
cause enough of a commotion to cause Vanix to come out and deal with this himself. Well if it was
just about destruction, they could tear apart the guild hall.
"Noburu, it's time for phase one." He said to the old man. With a nod, the Shadow Heart Ace
reached out in front of him as a huge gaping maw comprised of fangs and all the power it needed
to shred a part of the wall and throw brick and debris everywhere. Blood slicked some of the
areas where some poor soul had failed to escape. As another two mages came after the pair, the
shadow lord barely moved more than the amount necessary for him to turn his head to look at
each of them, trapping them in a telekinetic bubble before throwing them into two other Fairy Tail
guild members.
For a while Noburu tore down walls while the Shadow Lord flung the young upstarts who
happened to step up to put a stop to them. Eventually someone must have gotten Vanix out of
wherever he had been at, but the Fairy Tail Ace stepped up to put an end to the problem,
emerging from the sky atop a Griffon. Well the Griffon was still planned for, but he watched Vanix
dismount. Obviously he was taking them seriously. His jumble of rings and swords marked him to
be the real deal if the Griffon didn't and that saved them all the trouble in the world.
"Leave here, now and you won't have to heal up in magic council jails. You what,
never mind, stick around." He said as he drew and flourishing sky oath and wind dancer.
The problem was Fairy Tail was a pretty famous guild and that meant the Ace was just as famous.
Wind magic, though it probably wouldn't take him long to figure out what they were using. That
gave them a set amount of time to figure it out so they had that long to take care of the situation.
Without missing a beat, Noburu conducted his portion of this particular task, summoning a huge
gulf of shadows for an instant which suddenly dropped to reveal a huge crowd of dark mages.
Noburu's task earlier had been to cloak them in shadow and transport them to the guild hall to
help finish this. The new recruits took off, targeting the other members of Fairy Tail whilst Noburu
and The shadow lord dealt with the Ace.
Vanix zipped forward, moving as a blur, and a cluster of wind accompanied him. Both of the two
Shadow Hearts leaders were forced backwards, though they kept themselves composed as they
prepared their counter. Wind flew outward forcing them into a wall, but no damage was sustained
as the Shadow Lord grew tired of the games and surrounded himself and his mentor in a
telekinetic shield. Meanwhile, Noburu collected shadows to surround Vanix and begin to entangle
him, though that was countered with a quick couple of slashes from a purifying wind thanks to sky
oath. Still, it was time to stop the fight and it would be more demoralizing to the remaining
members if their second in command was dealt with sooner rather than later.
It was already known that Vanix was a holder mage, and unless he had something particularly
powerful up his sleeve he wouldn't be able to fight without the holder items. A quick telekinetic grip
forced the blades out wide and from his hands.
"Azeck!" He shouted as the Griffon screeched, flying up and flapping its
wings at the blade to launch the swords back to his friend and companion. Still, that hadn't been
the only thing that the shadow lord was targeting. Noburu formed a giant hand out of shadow and
gripped for the creature. While Azeck managed to evade, it did not quite manage to get
completely away from where its grasp was going to end up and the shadow hand grabbed hold of
Azecks wing with a quick turn of direction before swinging it around and tossing it into the floor.
During this time, as predicted, Vanix zoomed after Noburu but another shield got thrown up
around the old man, this one forcing the weapons once against from Vanix's hands as another
spell slammed the mages against the wall.
"Victims aren't we all." The shadow lord spoke before a heavy crushing feeling overcame
Vanix. It wasn't enough to kill him, though that fact wasn't exactly obvious and as a result his
arms, legs, and several ribs were broken in the process.
Vanix hit the floor in a crumpled heap next to Azeck, the swords and nodded to Noburu as he
telekinetically moved the blades to his own hands, sliding them into his belt as they turned.
"Time to move!" The old man roared. With that the dark mages filed out of
the guild hall as the Shadow lord held both of his hands in front of him forming a very strong
crushing motion, during which the guild hall began to shake and large sections of it crumpled
away into dust as if they had been put through a grinder. A shield formed an orb around Noburu
and the shadow lord as now, with their task completed, they disappeared into wave of shadows
designed as the shadow heart guild insignia as they headed to their next objective.
