Homeless guardian [closed]

[Vidrio]

Vidrio wandered through the streets of hargeon town in a lazy manner. Having done nothing for god knows how long did that to a guy. It had been around a month since Perdido had left him and gone back to the demon world. At first the loneliness had been horrible for vidrio but he soon realized that he was in a world full of people, that he was only lonely if he chose to be so. That was why he was in hargeon town at this moment in time. Well, that and he was looking for work. You couldn't survive without jewels in this day and age.

He had been looking for work in lots of different towns, always coming up short. Turning the street corner he was greeted by a rather impressive looking building. It was big, very big. Gazing at the building he noticed a man pacing back and forth in front of it, running his hands through his orange hair. It was a rather comical sight actually and although Vidrio never usually took humor in someone else's misery, something about it screamed hilarious to him. So he did what any normal person would do, chuckle and start walking again.

It took maybe a few seconds for Vidrio to park himself at a bench, not too far from where he had been standing, and flop onto it, sighing as he relaxed his muscles. He closed his eyes, wishing for maybe a few minutes of sleep before he was moved along. He was technically homeless, after all. Still, it seemed like his wishes were ignored as Vidrio very soon started hearing footsteps getting louder, getting closer.

In his mind Vidrio growled, 'Unless this is a job I really don't wanna hear it.'

Cracking his eyes open slightly, Vidrio was greeted to the visage of the orange haired man that had been pacing recently glaring at Vidrio. Lazily vidrio sat himself up and sighed staring at the man that seemed unhappy with him. "Can I help you at all?" Vidrio drawled out, secretly angry his nap had been interrupted before it had begun. The man didn't seem to care though as he growled at Vidrio. "What do you think you are doing out here young man, you'll ruin the looks of my wonderful library!" he yelled, making Vidrio's ears hurt. So that grand building had been a library eh? So this guy ran it, or something. Either way, Vidrio was not in the mood for this, as his sleep had been interrupted and this rude man had had made his ears hurt. Vidrio normally wasn't one for threats but this guy had stepped on a landmine.

"Are you sure you wanna speak that way to a mage" Vidrio drawled out, fluctuating his magic slightly to prove his point. From the way the man paled slightly, Vidrio guessed it had worked enough but suddenly there was a gleam in the man's eyes. "Are you really a mage, well I can use some help and it looks like you could use some jewels. Maybe we can help each other." The man stated, and Vidrio was very nearly impressed. Very nearly, because the man had shrugged off the threat and offered him a job. Before he could speak the man continued. "My name is Gorge, a senior at the LS library. Recently we have acquired some rather fascinating scrolls and fear for their safety. That is why I must ask you to guard the library for me, just for an hour while I'm gone. You'll be payed of course." The man subjected Vidrio to his offer and waited. Vidrio thought about it for a while, but in the end accepted. Gorge thanked him tremendously for accepting and rushed off somewhere, yelling something about being back soon. So Vidrio was left sat there on his bench, alone again.

How bad could guarding a library be?

Vidrio had sat at that bench for half an hour now, keeping an eye on the library entrance. Despite it looking old and large, it had been modified so the entrance was in fact the only way in. So far nothing had even approached the large wooden doors that were currently closed. The library, he had learnt, had been closed to the public while they were studying these scrolls they held. Maybe the scrolls contained new types of magic, or proof of the existence of the gods. They could even be ancient recipes or something, nobody knew.

Vidrio was snapped out of his thoughts as three people wearing masks approached the doors and started to try to bust in. 'well, looks like I get some action after all' Vidrio thought as he sped towards the three thugs, catching one of them off guard completely, cloths-lining him with his right arm, The blow connected with the masked man's neck launching him forwards and into a stone pillar, landing in a slump unconscious. For a moment, Vidrio had been tempted to yell something as his arm made connection. But that would have spoiled the surprise.

Vidrio turned towards the remaining robbers and stared at them. One was down already but these two would actually get a chance to fight back. Assuming they could of course. One of the masked men looked at the other and nodded as he launched forward at Vidrio, curling his right hand into a fist. He was slow, very slow. Looked weak too. Vidrio smirked as he leapt forward and did something he would eventually be known for. he copied the man's movements exactly as he ran forwards, but there was one crucial difference.

Vidrio was faster.

Vidrio raced towards the robber that had launched at him, his body a mirror image of the thugs in terms of positions, fist clenched at the side sprinting at his opponent. Vidrio was faster, and he knew this as he appeared in front of the wannabe bandit and landed a mean right hook across the man's cheek. As the robber went flying backwards the other appeared behind Vidrio, his palm encased in white hot flames. This man was faster than his friend and had showcased usage of magic. Still Vidrio was faster as he turned, caught the burning hand by the wrist and tossed him to the side, using the momentum already there to launch him at his friend.

Vidrio stared silently as the two men got back up, planning his next move. Worst case scenario: both could use magic and this turned into a battle of endurance. Best case: only the one that had used magic wasn't a pushover. Sadly that wasn't the case as bot had their palms ignite. So vidrio was essentially facing off against four burning hands. Brilliant! Just fantastic!

both men took off in a sprint towards Vidrio, who took a defensive hand-to-hand stance as he waited for them reach him. He mentally applauded his opponents' teamwork as they both sent a barrage of palm strikes at him. They were good and worked together well, too bad they were criminals. He flipped over one of them and pushed him forward. intent on ending the fight. The point had been to make them palm each other, and it had worked as the slower one's palm slammed into the fast one's stomach, exploding in a small burst of flames. Vidrio stared at the fireball in amusement before smirking.

"And then there was one... Do you want to continue fighting Us?"

The remaining man started panting as he stared at Vidrio. Even Vidrio had been taken by surprise as the demonic tone his voice had just taken shocked him out of fight mode. He really hated it when he started losing control against someone weaker than him. He had been fighting off the demon side of him for some time now and it was a reminder of why he could never have constant human company. No human would ever accept what was basically a Hanyou (half demon) as a friend or lover.

He turned his attention back to the thug, his drive to battle reignited as he launched forward slamming his fist into the man's hastily formed guard, not breaking through but pushing the man back. In all honesty, alone the man was weak, enough so that Vidrio wouldn't have to use magic to end the fight. Rushing the thug while his defenses were down, Vidrio threw an uppercut, slamming his fist into the man's gut before grabbing both of the man's arms. Firmly grasping both arms in his hands by the elbows, Vidrio slammed his left foot into the mans chest and pulled. With a sickening POP the mans arms were dislocated, his eyes wide in fear. As Vidrio slammed his fist into the mans temple, knocking him unconscious, the man reactivated his Flame palm and as hard as he could, grabbed Vidrio's shoulder.

"!" Vidrio let out a scream of pain, even as the man slumped to unconsciousness. Vidrio really regretted never wearing a shirt, because that palm had really hurt. He fell to his knees in pain, watching as his shoulder smoked. Vidrio frowned as he looked at the man that had done this, for a second feeling the need to finish ripping this man's arms off, before rapidly shaking his head. The pride of the demon side of him demanded blood, but the human in Vidrio commended the man for not giving up. He noticed his hour of guard duty was almost up as he growled in pain.

He had better be getting paid.

Gorge, the senior of the LS library, arrived shortly after the fight, only to be greeted by Vidrio stood by the doors with three unconscious masked men in front of him. Vidrio smirked at Gorge when he saw him arrive, feeling a sense of astonishment from the senior. "So, Gorge, was it? I assume I'm getting paid for saving your precious scrolls from these three naughty boys." Vidrio had worded the question more as a statement. He had been promised pay after all. The pain in his shoulder was still fresh, but was nothing that wouldn't fade with time. "Can we hurry up so I can leave and find somewhere else to sleep?!" Vidrio growled, annoyed that Gorge had been taking so long to reply.

"Ah, of course, right. Here, 2000 jewels for your troubles. I just never expected someone to actually try to steal the scrolls." Gorge said, handing over the money whilst staring at the unconscious forms of the three thieves. Vidrio took the money as he too stared at his handiwork. Whilst the first thug had gone down easily, not knowing Vidrio had been coming, the other two thugs looked quite roughed up. One with a burn mark on his stomach and the other with his arms severely elongated. Vidrio wasn't proud of how he had taken them down, but he had been unwilling to risk losing control of his magic against people who it would've killed. Takeover was something best used for strong opponents only.

Still he had gotten payed, and right now there was only one thing Vidrio wanted to do after all that had happened.

Leave this damn town before someone else offered him a job!
