Misfortunate Misfortunes
Christopher sat at the empty deck, moping. His feet hung over the wooden planks and he kicked whatever water that came into contact with his foot. Which was none cause his legs were a teensy bit, weensy bit, too short. A bark came from his side and he turned to look woefully at the dog. With somewhat of a lethargic enthusiasm, he lifted one hand like it was so much effort and plopped it not that heavily down on the dog's head, ruffling her fur at the same time. His luck was so bad, it was worse than crap. It was downright ******. If his mother was hearing his thoughts, oh boy, he'd be in a lot of trouble. He could imagine her naggy voice saying 'Christopher Langdon! We do not use such words in our head! We eradicate them from our brains!'. Christopher lifelessly nodded to the non-existent made up in his imagination mini lecture.
But still. Why did he have to end up catching the wrong ship. Why did he have to catch the wrong ship and end up at a deserted island of wilderness. Why couldn't he have caught the wrong ship and end up at some beautiful resort island. Why couldn't he have instead, just catch the right ship. Anything would be better than this. He looked dejectedly at the broken sign threatening to blow away in the wind. The next ship for departures came at midnight. It was currently early morning. He lifted his fingers. How many hours was it to go? Christopher sighed again and buried his face in his fingers. Oh why, life?
He asked this great question with a very un-enthusiastic approach. Chrissie barked again and Christopher looked at his dog. She seemed to be telling him something. Almost like 'Get your butt off this deck and start moving! You've got a whole island at your disposal, explore it!'. Ha ha. He wasn't in the mood. He looked back out to the ocean and Chrissie barked again, this time more angry. Christopher snapped his head back and had a mini showdown with his dog. His dog barked once more. His dog won.
With a massive reluctance he didn't even know he possessed, Christopher stood up and started walking. Walking pretty aimlessly too. He wasn't even looking where he was going. A bark sounded behind him and the boy turned his head around. "What?" He asked out loud (and very irritably) for the first time. His dog barked again. "What?" He asked again. Christopher frowned and turned to face fowards again. His eyes widened.

Re: Misfortunate Misfortunes
Someone seriously needed to explain the world to him. Just how did he manage to end up on an uninhabited island? At least, he thought it was uninhabited, and the way it looked didn't help in adjusting his mindset. Eidan slightly whimpered as he sadly lowered his head. Perhaps he should go over what happened to him, that way he'd be able to piece together how he ended up on this isolated island. So, the earliest memory he could recall of the day was...exploring a port. Yes, a port. It was possibly Hargeon, but he wasn't exactly sure. Then he remembered a large and very energetic crowd. Very energetic. They had...pushed him, because they were in such a rush. He was pushed off the edge of the port and into a small boat that was about to depart. Of course, after that everything went black, because he had hit his head upon landing in the boat.
Next thing he knew, he was on this island with no one else around. The boy was lucky though. Such a situation already occurred to him, when his father dumped him in that frozen wasteland so many times. Currently, it was in his best interest to search for any other humans (despite not really wanting to see anyone), or at least a temporary shelter. Eidan sighed dejectedly before looked forward, eying the lush greenery in front of him cautiously. He gulped, took a deep breathe, and proceeded to move onward. However, the teen was barely able to take ten steps into the forest(?), for a large roar erupted dangerously close to him. That was definitely a signal to run. So, he dashed away as quickly as he could, like his life depended on it. Which it certainly did.
Eidan seemed to be getting some pretty good distance from the roar too. In only a few minutes, the area he was previously located in was gone, and he was surrounded by a plethora of plants. Just when he thought he was doing something right, for once, he tripped. Yes, he tripped and landed face first in the dirt. The teen grunted as he pushed himself back onto his feet. He really couldn't do anything correctly...
Though, once he continued to move again, this time with a simple walk, he heard something. It sounded similar to barking. Well, wasn't that strange. Should he investigate? Eidan mulled over the thought, but his legs moved forward anyway. He apparently had no say in the matter. Soon enough he reached a distance where he could see...another person. The teen only stopped walking once he was in front of the stranger, and the stranger's dog. He kept silent and began to fidget around a bit. Why did he want to find someone else again?
...
Didn't he like solitude?

Re: Misfortunate Misfortunes
Christopher's first reaction was to start hyperventilating (class huh). His mind processes were a bit like 'oh god oh god, there's a dirt monster here to kill me!' but then he realised the thing he saw was not actually a thing. It was a human boy who did indeed, look like a human boy. That left him wondering why he thought 'dirt monster' on a first impression. Anyways, he figured he must have looked a bit stupid staring at the boy in a position that made him seem that he was about to run off any minute now. Well... he had been about to run off any minute... The boy forced a twitchy smile upon his face. "He-he-hey, Hey!" If he had said that in a tune he probably could have gotten a pretty good song. "Um, who are y-OW!" Christopher looked hurt at the golden retriever who had bit his hand. It looked as if she was trying to say, 'now now Christopher, that is not how you talk to someone new,'. Uh oh.
Christopher's smile turned very fake. Anybody would be able to see he was sweating in fear. He turned to look at the other boy and tried to appease his mother in a dog. He bowed (stiffly) in a gentlemanly manner (that was comparable to a statue). "Um hello there str-" He coughed "I mean, unknown person. My name is Christopher and might I enquire what you are doing on this," He coughed again "lovely island? Also, what is your name?" 'Chrissie' next to him barked in approval. The boy sighed. For now he could relax.
