Friendly Acquaintance, Ice Cream?

Hikari woke up like normal on a nice weekend day, the sun was shining pretty brightly and the weather was still pretty great to go and grab some Ice Cream, though because she knew that in Crocus there weren't any Ice Cream places, it was better to go into possible enemy territory to find something good to eat. "Okay I'm an idiot for doing this, but I may as well go to Magnolia to get some Ice Cream...it is my day off anyways." Hikari thought to herself as she put on her usual White Dress with Bright Red secondary color trimming, high red stockings, white shoes and a soft white blouse so that she could cover up her guild mark that belonged to Shadow Heart, almost to essentially match her name which meant 'Light'.

Hikari simply walked out of the guild hall like nothing really ever happened between members and herself. "I wonder how Kuroi-kun is doing?" Hikarin thought to herself, it's been about a week since she and Kuroi had gone out on a mission together to apprehend somebody who was willing to leak out secrets of the Shadow Heart guild just for his own greedy needs. Though Hikari would rather not think about that situation as of now, because today was a day to go and enjoy some Ice Cream at Magnolia and hopefully interact with people who would be friendly towards her. Hikari then took the train at Crocus Station to Magnolia, in which she departed and arrived within the next half an hour.

Wandering around the station, Hikari seemed somewhat lost until she saw a small bakery that said, "Icy Sweets." Was it just luck or coincidence, Hikari didn't know nor did she actually care at that moment, she simply rushed in like a little child because she could finally enjoy some Ice Cream. "I'd like to order an Ice Cream Cake Slice, some Ice Cold Milk, and a Corn Muffin please!" Hikari stated in a cheerful child-like voice to the person taking orders, she then took a seat in front of where all the Bakery happened to be, just in case she had anymore cravings after she ate what ordered.

The weekend was the perfect time for people to relax and to do whatever they want or couldn’t do on a normal weekday, although guild mages could pretty much decide if they wanted to work on Saturdays or Sundays like they could through the whole week. For someone like Lissandra the whole week offered this challenge of what to do and since nobody told her how to spend her free time or how to have fun so she was actually just sitting inside the guild hall on this sunny day. Maybe spending some time outside was a good idea, well she also felt a little hungry, not hungry for a full meal, but rather for something sweet. Lissandra had no real idea where she could find a bakery or something similar in Magnolia since she rarely ever went outside, well only to go to the station and take a train somewhere else, but she remembered a small shop named “Icy Sweets” somewhere near the station. For a moment Lissandra just sat there. It was almost like she considered going there, but since nobody asked her to she would just ditch the idea and continue to waste her time looking at the request board from afar. Freedom was still something she didn’t fully understand as weird as that might sound.

Lissandra slowly got up when the urge to eat something sweet on cold on this sunny day just seemed too tempting. Lissandra had always been a bit pale, although it had mostly been due to her weak condition. Lissandra checked her purse before she finally left the guild hall and slowly wandered through the streets to spot the small shop. Her guild tattoo was clearly visible when she was wearing her favorite turquoise dress. It didn’t took Lissandra long to finally find the small shop, but almost for a whole minute she seemed to be deciding if she would actually go in there or not. In the end she quietly entered the store and looked around, although nothing really caught her eye to be obviously out of place.

Like with most of her jobs Lissandra decided by simply closing her eyes and hovering her finger over the menu on the wall. It was almost like she knew that deciding on one of these things would get her nowhere soon. “I would like to order the ice cream bowl with cookies and strawberries please.” The bowl was probably much bigger than Lissandra had expected it to be and almost as big as her head. Well it was what fate had chosen for her so she set down a just a few tables apart from Hikari without really noticing and picked one of the still hot cookies with melted ice cream on and had a bite. It was the single most delicious thing she had ever tasted, well it wasn’t like she was hard to impress.

Hikari had received the order she placed just about ten minutes ago, and everything just seemed delicious, her mouth began to water simply because the last time she enjoyed something like this was...the night before her parents died. Hikari's expression turned from that of a cheerful personality, to more of a mopey kind, but nothing that would force her to do anything rash in blinding pain. Instead, she decided to focus on what Kuroi had mentioned to her just a week ago, "At least you're still alive right?"

Those words brought comfort to her, because yes she was still alive, apparently not in a guild she formally call home due to the cold atmosphere there, but family because they took her in at her worst. "Well, bon appetite!" Hikari said in a moderate whisper right before she took a bite, a woman passed right by her and immediately Hikari started blushing intensely. The woman who just passed by was wearing a Turquoise Dress and some nice shoes, the blond hair seemed to grab Hikari's attention as she really hasn't seen anybody with blond hair aside from...her mother. But ironically, Hikari was attracted to this woman, simply because of her beauty and slight resemblance to her deceased mother.

Hikari did hear this woman order an Ice Cream bowl with cookies and strawberries, and this only made Hikari gulp out of craving, imagining how big and delicious the bowl would be. The bowl that came to the woman in her Turquoise Dress was almost as big as her head, and almost same size as her own head as well. "Maybe I'll try that right after I finish eating this...it looks good." Hikari thought to herself, she then immediately gulped down everything she ordered in a matter of five minutes, yet she wasn't satisfied from just that. Hikari more or less moved a little closer to the woman she immediately grew attracted to, close enough to start a conversation but not too close that she would feel uncomfortable around Hikari.

"You know it's your fault that I might catch Brain Freeze right?" Hikari started with a cheerful and teasing voice towards the woman just two seats from her left.

Lissandra had no idea how to properly eat her bowl of ice cream with whole hot cookies and strawberries stuffed into the pile of ice cream with cream on top. Of course she could try to eat it with a little spoon, but there was no way she could eat those cookies or the strawberries with it so she simply used the cookies to scoop up the ice cream. It was by no means a clean affair, although Lissandra was skillful enough to not stain her favorite dress. She didn’t really notice that Hikari was looking at her or that she got noticed at all and she probably couldn’t care less since she was only thinking about the dessert in front of her for now. There was probably no way she would be able to finish it, but she could at least all the stuff around it pile of ice cream.

Lissandra looked up when she heard a person addressing her or well she simply thought that it might be her and looked to her right, still with a strawberry stuffed into her mouth. For a moment Lissandra didn’t really know what to make of the stranger. She seemed to be a girl around her age with black hair, but that was about it what Lissandra could see in the few seconds she kept eye contact. “Hmmpgfggfmmpff…” Lissandra tried to answer, although she quickly noticed that it was hard to speak with her mouth still full. She continued to chew so she could actually talk and not mumble some gibberish. “It’s good, but you won’t get a Brain Freeze if you don’t eat it too fast.” She now answered and had no idea that Hikari was actually trying to have a conversation with her so she just continued to eat her dessert and smiled while doing so. It was funny how Lissandra thought that she had just simply fulfilled what she had been asked for and could continue with what she had been doing before. Lissandra was used to actually used to being asked questions without someone having an interest in a conversation with her than the other way round.

Hikari took note of after her words to the woman in her nice Turquoise Dress, apparently eating and enjoying her food. For some weird reason, this woman just seemed to draw Hikari in more and more as the seconds passed, "What the hell is this feeling..." Hikari thought to herself as her heart kept beating at slightly faster rates than normal around this woman. "Well...she is really beautiful though, maybe I could talk to her?" Hikari kept thinking as she began realizing the feeling in her chest after about minute passed by, and god damn her love life for being attracted to women as well and not just men.

Hikari could hear some muffled speech coming from the woman next to her, she only giggled at it a little bit because it seemed cute to Hikari. Practically anything that people would consider childish or stupid, Hikari may consider it cute from this woman only. It was then that the woman swallowed her food after chewing for a moment and translated the muffled gibberish, "It's good but you won't get a Brain Freeze if you don't eat it too fast." The woman's voice seemed so gentle, "How could I actually...get her to like me.." Hikari thought to herself simply because this woman may be well, too pure for her? Hikari essentially just mustered up some of her confidence to try and start the conversation for real now, "Yeah true, I'll try to keep that in mind....Hey...what's your name?" Hikari asked with an innocent yet timid voice to the woman while responding to her comment.

Lissandra was probably still too naive and to her Hikari just seemed like a nice girl nothing more. For the moment she just enjoyed her ice cream and actually just continued focusing on the challenge in front of her rather than talking or even looking at Hikari. The only feeling other than the simple happiness that the ice cream induced in her was the cold cream running down her throat in all its deliciousness. There were no real worries to her right now or at least she simply forgot about them.

She blushed a bit, when she heard Hikari giggle and now probably thought that it had been a stupid idea to try to talk with a huge cookie stuffed into her mouth. It was rude or so someone had told her a long time ago, but sometimes she really didn’t think about what she was doing. Lissandra had no idea, why Hikari continued to stare at her, maybe it was because of the ice cream or the fact that she had noticed her guild tattoo, when she had turned towards Hikari. She still smiled, and tried to take a few small bites so she could instantly replied if Hikari were to talk to her again and like she predicted Hikari seemed to be interested in a conversation or at least that was what she thought when the black-haired girl asked for her name. “My name is Lissandra and I am a Fairy Tail Mage.”, she just replied with a big smile on her face and turned her head a little more to the left so Hikari could see her tattoo. In these high spirits she was pretty proud to be a member of one of the most well-known guilds in Fiore. “What’s your name?” She now asked and took another strawberry from the bowl and continued to slowly eat it up. Lissandra was curious why Hikari started talking to her, because she mostly knew people who would talk to her for some reason and she really hadn’t had many conversations simply because someone just felt like talking to her so she would always look for the hidden motive. Still those were things that right now seemed a bit distanced and as long as Lissandra was enjoying her dessert she would probably be in a good mood.
