Re: Looking for Bread Crumbs (Aj Luna & Kasimir Sewik/Invite)
Kaz felt his blade connect, but the blow still wasn't going to be enough to finish the man. As he prepared to exchange blows again, abruptly Kai appeared behind the opponent. The enemy was taken out instantly, leaving Kaz still panting for breath. The fact that the fight was over failed to register in his mind, as Kaz kept his blade readied, as if to defend against an attack. He stared at Kai for probably too much time, before the result finally clicked. Finally he sheathed his blade, wincing a bit as he felt his wounds even more. Almost instinctively, Kaz first looked towards where his companions had fallen - they still appeared alive, but definitely in worse shape than Kaz.
Then Kaz returned his gaze back to Mordekai. The angry glare was not one Kaz could replicate easily. Kai was more than late. A lot had gone wrong, and could have easily become much worse. So much of it could have been avoided, too. "Yeah, you're late," Kaz's voice was thick with his emotions. He was never good at hiding these kind of things. It took a lot to make him angry, but this whole scenario had really gone over the top. He snatched the offered letter before Kai could change his mind. Although Kaz was in a bad mood, it apparently wasn't enough for him to refuse Kai's gift. "You know there were a lot of idiots here who barely knew how to use a weapon. A lot of misfires that would have killed civilians if we hadn't interfered. I can't help but think that someone in your position could have found some better way to go about this, at least manage to clear or limit the amount of people nearby."
Kaz crinkled the letter a bit, his grasp tightening. He grit his teeth, mainly because a mix of the pain, dying adrenaline, and rising anger was a lot for his body to bear right now. So he turned away from Mordekai for now, knowing that the other probably wanted to keep his involvement in the matter quiet. This was the first time that Kaz had felt much more anger than fear against someone in the Magic Council. Provoking someone like Mordekai was a bad idea, for multiple reasons, but Kaz failed to care at the moment.
Carefully, Kaz knelt down first next to Geo. He laid him down in a more comfortable position, before checking Geo's wounds for anything that required immediate care. Kaz's own side still dripped blood, he would need to get it looked at eventually, but for now he was more worried about Fairy Tail and Dragon Slayer. The bank was starting to come alive again; the people seeming to overcome their fear and move into shock, some wailing and other voices beginning to mix. The danger was over, and there were no casualties, not even among the robbers. That still didn't make it a happy ending in Kaz's mind. They were too close to the precipice of disaster... He never wanted something like this to happen again.

“Finally, it is done” Vortex said as one of the men help him up from the wall he was resting on. Gio was being look over by Kaz and Kai so that leave him some time alone. He thanks his lucky stars that he was able to walk on his two legs. There will be no chance of life that he’ll let someone see his face even to heal him. ‘While without knowing if they can be trusted to not talk’ He though as a sharp jolt of pain surge from his chest
.
“Kai, can you send for a medic plea? I think I something broke with that last kick.” Vortex call out a little, a lot, in pain. Once more he was someone that has a low pain tolerance. He stops at a branch near where there at so he won’t be near them. Even though fighting with each other can cause lasting bond he still hate being in a group. ‘Why would they do this? It seems that they wanted to make a statement but why the bank?’ Vortex thought as he stares at the MC doing their job finally. ‘Whatever its not my job anymore, its there.’

Kai knew Kasimir was mad at him. Kasimir didn’t understand the required risks to keep worse things from happening, and likely wouldn’t listen to him if he told him he would have rather have been here the whole time… for multiple reasons. Still, he couldn’t blame Kasimir. Even Exes with as powerful of magic as that one weren’t an excuse. He simply sighed and thanked them again. The healer would be along shortly and every single one of them would be as good as new, and the captured robbers would give them some insight on criminal activities. Were they truly connected to the attack on the council? Or were they just dumb criminals?
Regardless of what they found out, Kasimir had to set a few things right back at home as soon as he had the chance, and hopefully they could make life a little better in the meantime. Finding out who these ‘Rise’ people were was going to be hard work, especially since the lack of magic the lackies had shown meant they likely weren’t a dark guild. “I’ll see that the three of you get paid properly, and anyone we can track down that was here when everything happened will be taken care of as well,” he told Kasimir as he shrugged, picked up the unconscious leader and walked off.
The rest of the time there was pretty uneventful, save for the healer taking care of any injuries and a young man approaching and giving Kasimir, AJ, and Geo their rewards. It was one small step in figuring out what had happened at the Magic Council, but maybe it would be enough to put people, especially the Magic Council, at ease again. At least that was what Kai had hoped.

There was no point in being mad but doing nothing, so Kaz made it a point to help out whatever ways he could. He was far from a medical specialist, but he could at least take care of Aj and Geo until better help arrived. The rest of the people, thanks to their group effort, had seemingly avoided any serious injuries. The worst were a few scrapes from some flying debris, but nothing that would last for long. Even when there was little else for him to do, Kaz still stuck around, mainly just waiting to ensure the Magic Council would arrive and do their jobs. He took a seat on the ground next to Aj, but didn't much feel like talking. When Kai said his parting words, Kaz just looked away and pointedly ignored him.
Kaz added the money to a very thin pouch, before rising to his feet and dusting himself off. "I guess this is goodbye then, dragon slayer," he told Aj. "It's good to know that at least there's some powerful people out there willing to help out the normal people. I was heading out of Era before all this happened, and I think I'll stick to that plan and head out." Fame was something he didn't want, and he had probably gained a small amount of recognition after these events. Even if a lot of that attention had shifted to Kai as soon as he entered and 'saved the day', according to some. "If we ever meet again, maybe we can share a drink, or at least something less dangerous." He headed towards the bank entrance, one hand held up in farewell. Era was not a place he would return to soon.

After being heal and finally able to breathe aging, he looks around to see what they were doing. Kai was leaving the site with the boss in tow. Geo was being move to a better location and Kasimir was coming over his way. There was also a man that give him a pouch of money but he dismiss him because Kasimir begin to talk to him. "I guess this is goodbye then, dragon slayer. It's good to know that at least there's some powerful people out there willing to help out the normal people. “Wow that just made his day right there. “If we ever meet again, maybe we can share a drink, or at least something less dangerous."
“Don’t count on it Kasimir, I rather stay alone most of the time.” Vortex says as he stands up and walks away from the bank. He was Vortex for too long, it time to shed this skin and become Aj Luna aging. “Now then what was I doing before all this started aging? Oh right I was gonna go find a place to use a created some new spells.” He said to himself as he entire a place to change his clothing.
