Break 'em Up! Empty Break 'em Up!

The raven haired girl yawned as she stepped out of the council building after spending hours with her brother doing paper work and helping him with Council stuffs. She groaned as she felt her muscles aching all over. It had been a long time since the paladin had got some action even though with the new council rules, she should be forcing people to join guilds. Argon had already expressed his displeasure with the girl’s reluctance to comply with the rule many times already, ending the conversations with the loud bang of the door as Charlotte storms out with Kai shaking his head in amusement. The act had happened so much already that she and Argon doesn’t bother bringing the topic up anymore.

Jude followed behind her, circling her with a small paper in his hands which lists out her things to do for the day which she defiantly ignored by blocking out his voice from her head. Finally, she spotted a worried looking man calling out for some Council paladins for help. Most of them apologized and walked away from him for they already had things to do. After a while of watching the person, she approached him. “Hey, what do you want?”

“uh ha what?” the guy stumbled as he turned around swiftly to see the raven haired girl and a strange creature floating around her . "Wh-who are you?” he asked, his voice breaking a little as he nervously looked from her to the entrance and then towards the big bag that he carried. “Charlotte. Who are you and what are you doing here?” Must have been because she wasn’t wearing her uniform that he looked confused first before giving her details on why he was stumbling around the magic council grounds. “Th-The bandits have blocked the road to Hosenka. They are trying to rob everyone that goes that way,” he answered with a sigh before walking away from her.
“Where are you going?” She asked him, tilting her head to side, letting some hair fall from her shoulder as she raised a fine eyebrow at him.
“To find a council paladin,” he answered without even looking back at her, making a small vain pop out on her forehead.
“Oy! You were talking to one just a moment ago!” she said, pushing her anger out the way to pull her façade up as she pouted at him.
He turned to look at her with unbelievable eyes, dragging his eyes from the top of her head to the tip of her toes before looking up at her eyes. “Y-you are a paladin?”
She nodded with a big grin before pulling him along with her towards the road leading to Hosenka.

Break 'em Up! Empty Re: Break 'em Up!

The confused gaze of George didn’t go unnoticed by the raven haired paladin though she didn’t even make a move to acknowledge that or tell him to stop. She kept whistling as she marched down the road leading to Hosenka with Jude and the merchant following close behind her. “He-hey..are you sure you are a paladin?” The man asked, moving a little faster to get in front of her so that he can see her face. “Of course I am! Just believe in me!” she winked as she with one hard step to the ground, pushed herself up with her heels before skipping happily towards their destination.

The road was indeed blocked by large boulders and tree trunks just like George had mentioned. And there were men stationed in front of them. There were three in total from what she could see and they had noticed her just minutes after she saw them. They all had daggers in their hands, something that Charlotte’s sharp eyes caught sight of as they approached the troublemakers. George had stopped on his tracks a few feet behind her and so have Jude as he flew close to George for letting Charlotte handle the situation. “I’m going to have to ask you gentlemen to move those things that you have placed there and stop blocking the road to Hosenka,” she said motioning towards the boulders with a big grin on her face.

Break 'em Up! Empty Re: Break 'em Up!

The three men looked taken back. Surely they didn’t expect some girl to wander into their territory and tell them what to do, especially a girl that looked weak and nothing special.  Once their shock subsided, which only took seconds, one of them started snickering while the other two doubled over with laughter. From behind her, George face palmed with a sigh as he stared at the scene unfold in front of him. Why did he drag that little girl into the whole problem? There was no way that the small girl could defeat those bandits, let alone defend herself. He turned his head to look at the flying thing beside him who was surprisingly still concentrating on the small paper it had in its hands rather than being concerned for the girl who was about to take on three powerful bandits. “For a pet, you are awfully calm about the predicament your friend is in,” he stated, pushing his lips into a thin line, clearly displeased at the way the creature showed no concern. “What are you talking about?” Jude finally looked up from the paper to reply George back with another question. “I’m not concerned because I am aware of my master’s true power. Now keep quiet and watch if you want a good show”

The bandits had moved closer to Charlotte by then, approaching her swiftly with their daggers ready. Charlotte simply grinned at them before making a long whip made out of lightning. She wasted no time in swinging them towards the first bandit who was distracted by her display of magic and the whip wrapped around his right hand, sending waves of electricity through him before pulling her whip back, getting the guy fall clutching his arm. The other two were charging towards her from her either side and seeing that it was too late to use her whip, she swiftly moved, stepping back a few feet with high speed as the two crashed into each other. “Give up?”

Jude had to tap under George’s mouth for him to close it as he watched Charlotte move as fast as lightning between the bandits dancing out of their grip and slipping away from then in just seconds. He had to admit that the girl knew exactly what she was doing. She had been keeping those two bandits on their toes all this time and she neither looked hurt or tired. In fact, she looked like she was playing around with them; setting them think they have caught her before moving right out of their grasp as if she felt no strain.

Finally, Charlotte came to a stop in the middle of the road, letting them all close in on her before raising her hand up to call up on her magic. In a matter of seconds, lightning fell around them, covering two meters from where she was standing, effectively hitting the three bandits and making all three of them fall to the ground groaning in pain. “Now, I’m going to tell you guys to move those obstacles out of the road just like you guys put them there. Get to work before I decide to electrocute you three to the point where you can’t walk, kay?” She asked, tilting her head innocently with a small smile. She skipped back to George, pulling her hands up to put up a victory sign.

“Wh-Who are you?”

Break 'em Up! Empty Re: Break 'em Up!

“I thought I told you already. My name is Charlotte,” she said, sticking her tongue out at him with a playful wink. The man obviously didn't expect that from her. She looked back at the bandits to see that they have started moving the boulders and everything else out of the way already, not very pleased at their new job. She kept her eyes on them, keeping her whip in her hand, moving it around now and then to make sure they do their work properly. She stretched, keeping her hands folded behind her head with a bored look on her face waiting for Jude to come back with some council guards. She had sent him back to get some guards not too long ago since they needed them to arrest the three bandits.

When Jude came back with the guards, they instantly bowed towards her respectfully before walking towards the bandits. Finally, having that wait lifted off her shoulder she turned around to find George looking at her with his mouth wide open. “y-you are Charlotte Von Argon! You are council head Argon’s daughter!” He pretty much screamed t her as she giggled at his voice and expression. “Argon is indeed my father, “ She rplied before walking towars him. “And I also need the reward you promised,” She finished, putting her hands forward for him to hand over the money.

“Charlotte! Come on! Get this whole thing over with already! You have other things to do you know?” Jude yelled at her from behind which she ignored just as she ignored him most of the time when he talked about her work. Sometimes she wondered whether the green little fairy was her pet or her father’s pet as he seemed to listen more to her father than to her.

“Thank you for all of your help, Mr Charlotte,” George said, truly grateful for her help as he can now resume his trade between Oak town and Hosenka. Charlotte just smiled at him before motioning the guards to arrest the three bandits and bring them with her.
