Burn![Mission]
Charlotte stormed down the big magic council headquarters being chased after by Jade who was again trying his best to get Charlotte to go and attend some council stuff. “For heaven’s sake, Jade! Stop trying to make me go to those boring meetings!” she yelled, not even turning back to see look at the green fairy creature. She was starting down the way out of the headquarters when she saw Mr. Wellington, a face one would not easily forget around the walls of the magic council. That councilman was known for his pride as one and Charlotte secretly respected him for it. Although, she knew very well that he didn’t exactly think too highly of her since he, like everyone else, thought she was irresponsible. She cooked up a grin as she skipped towards him, lowering her tone to the sweetest singing voice before calling out to the irritated looking man. “Mr. Wellington~ how are you? ~”
The council uniform clad man turned around to give the girl one glare, narrowing his eyes to give her a disappointed look. Well, who was he expecting? Her brother? Well, too bad for him. Charlotte thought, acting completely oblivious to the man’s hinting eyes. “Mr. Wellington~ what are you doing?” she singed again, this time earning a death glare from him. He turned to her, ready to give her a lecture. “Miss Charlotte, don’t you have better things to do than run around the council?” a shake saying no was the black haired girl’s reply, clearly agitating the councilman more and more. “You should learn from your brother, Miss Charlotte. He is so young and yet he takes responsibility for everything. Know what, I am going to give you something very important to do. There are three delinquents running around the town, setting fire to everything they see. Go and take care of them,” the serious looking man said handing her a piece of paper and walking off muttering something under his breath.
She took one look at the paper and a frown formed on her face instantly. There are people out there setting fire to buildings? She motioned Jade to follow her and straightened out her uniform, ready to deal with those troublemakers. She hated troublemakers as much as she hated the boring council meetings. If not, maybe more than the council meetings. She didn’t miss the sigh that escaped Jade either and she couldn’t help but chuckle at him.
Charlotte wasn’t sure which way she was supposed to go at that moment. All the information she had was that there were people trying to turn the town into fried chicken and nobody knew where they would hit next. So, the lightning mage just eased up and let her feet take her towards the place she was used to going to. The library. The nice old lady running the library knew that Charlotte visited at least once every day and always kept it a secret for her.
When she arrived, she saw her standing outside, looking scared of something. Slowing down her pace, her curious amber eyes traveled from the lady to the three men standing next to her. Guess she just found the troublemakers….she smirked, making a straight line towards the three. “Hiiii!” she called out in the happiest voice she can make, causing a domino like reaction and turning all heads towards her. She saw the slight ray of hope that filled the lady’s eyes and nodded, comforting her silently. “So...what’s going on in here?” she asked, looking at the alarmed men.
“Dude! She is from the council,” she heard one yell at the other and she tilted her head to the side innocently.”Am I?” a smug smile tugged at her lips as she watched the men tensing up. She saw all of them exchanging glances at each other before charging towards her. She shook her head as she stepped aside for the first punch aimed at her, ducked for the second and tripped the third before he could hit her. “You three are no gentlemen!” she pouted, continuing to dodge every attack. That was till they aimed a fire bolt to her direction. She managed to doge it somehow with it barely hitting her shoulder. This was starting to get serious, she noticed as soon as she saw the leader getting ready for his attack. “Ah no, you don’t” she whispered under her breath, a golden whip taking form in her right hand. She whipped it towards the leader, knocking him off his foot with him clutching his arms. The others tried attacking her with their magic again but got the same treatment.
The leader..Steve, was it? Didn’t stay down for long despite being injured and initiated an attack again. One more hit with her whip and he was down again. She didn’t want the man to use his attack in a place like where they were. A powerful fire covering some area wouldn’t do any good and Wellington would probably make her clean up the mess. She saw the old lady smiling at her and she returned it. Well, this was certainly a good day.
